THE TRUE TABERNACLE AND DWELLING PLACE OF GOD

    The Government
of God

The tabernacle and temples of the old Testament were types and shadows of the true temple that God had in mind from the very beginning of creation. There is allot more of this taught in many different ways in the Bible but this should be sufficient for the purposes of this article.

Exodus 25:8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.  This is the tabernacle of Moses

Hebrews 8:1. Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2. A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

1 Peter 2:4 To whom coming, as to a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 You also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are laborers together with God: you are God's flock, you are God's building. 3:16 Don't you know  that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If any man corrupt the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. 6:19 What? Don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own?

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together grows into an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom you also are built together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Acts 7:44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking to Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen. 45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers, to the days of David; 46 Who found favor before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob. 47 But Solomon built him an house. 48 However, the most High dwells not in temples made with hands; as said the prophet, 49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will you build me? said the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

John 4:19 The woman said to him, Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and you say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21 Jesus said to her, Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when you shall neither in this mountain (Samaria), nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship you know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. 25 The woman said to him, I know that Messiah comes, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26Jesus said to her, I that speak to you am he.
