Revelation 21:24 And the nations of them which
are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do
bring their glory and honor into it. AKJV
Isaiah 60 & 62
is prophecy about the New Jerusalem that is quoted by Revelation 21:24. Isaiah 60:1 Arise,
shine; for your light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen on
you. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross
darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise on you, and his glory
shall be seen on you. 3 And the Gentiles shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising. 4 Lift up your eyes
round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to
you: your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be nursed
at your side. 5 Then you shall see, and flow together, and your heart
shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be
converted to you, the wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you. 6 The
multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah;
all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and
they shall show forth the praises of the LORD. 7 All the flocks of Kedar
shall be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister
to you: they shall come up with acceptance on my altar, and I will
glorify the house of my glory. 8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and
as the doves to their windows? 9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and
the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver
and their gold with them, to the name of the LORD your God, and to the
Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you. 10 And the sons of
strangers shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to
you: for in my wrath I smote you, but in my favor have I had mercy on
you. 11 Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they shall not
be shut day nor night; that men may bring to
you the wealth of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.
12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall
perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted. 13 The glory of
Lebanon shall come to you, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box
together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the
place of my feet glorious. 14 The sons also of them that afflicted you
shall come bending to you; and all they that despised you shall bow
themselves down at the soles of your feet; and they shall call you; The
city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel. 15 Whereas you has
been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through you, I will make
you an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.
16 You shall also suck the milk of the
Gentiles, and shall suck the breast of kings: and you shall know
that I the LORD am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of
Jacob. 17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver,
and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make your officers
peace, and your exactors righteousness. 18 Violence shall no more be
heard in your land, wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you
shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise. 19 The sun shall
be no more your light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give
light to you: but the LORD shall be to you an everlasting light, and
your God your glory. 20 Your sun shall no more go down; neither shall
your moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be your everlasting light,
and the days of your mourning shall be ended. 21 Your people also shall
be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my
planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. 22 A little one
shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD
will hasten it in his time.
Isaiah 62:1
For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I
will not rest, until the righteousness of it go forth as brightness, and
the salvation thereof as a lamp that burns. 2 And the Gentiles
shall see your righteousness, and all kings
your glory: and you shalt be called by a new name, which the
mouth of the LORD shall name.3 You shalt also be a crown of glory in the
hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.......12
And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and
you shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.
These prophecy
are about kings coming to the messiah. Isaiah 49: 6 And he said, It
is a light thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes
of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give you
for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of
the earth. 7 Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy
One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a
servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise,
princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful,
and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee......It
does however transition to the people of faith: 23
And kings shall be your nursing fathers, and
their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with
their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of you feet; and you
shall know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait
for me.
Some of
these prophecies may be using the word king illustratively like
Revelation chapter 1 does. The article is not going to discern since
both could be construed to fit some of these prophecies. Revelation 1:5
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first
begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him
that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And has made us kings and priests to
God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.
Amen.....5:9 And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take
the book, and to open the its seals : for you were slain, and have
redeemed us to God by your blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and
people, and nation; 10 And have made us to our God
kings and priests: and we shall reign
on the earth
More about the
Messiah and kings: Isaiah 52:13 Behold, my servant shall deal
prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.14 As many
were astounded at you; his visage was so marred more than any man, and
his form more than the sons of men: 15 So shall he sprinkle many
nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at
him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and
that which they had not heard shall they consider.
This is
prayer of David about Solomon that turns into a prophecy about the
Messiah with a mention of the city of the Lord. . Psalms 72:1
Give the king your judgments, O God, and your righteousness to the
king's son. 2 He shall judge your people with righteousness, and your
poor with judgment. 3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and
the little hills, by righteousness. 4 He shall judge the poor of the
people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in
pieces the oppressor. 5 They shall fear you as long as the sun and moon
endure, throughout all generations. 6 He shall come down like rain on
the mown grass: as showers that water the earth. 7 In his days shall the
righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures.
8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river to the
ends of the earth. 9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before
him; and his enemies shall lick the dust. 10
The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings
of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. 11 Yes, all kings shall fall down
before him: all nations shall serve him. 12 For he shall deliver
the needy when he cries; the poor also, and him that has no helper. 13
He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the
needy. 14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and
precious shall their blood be in his sight. 15 And he shall live, and to
him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for
him continually; and daily shall he be praised. 16 There shall be an
handful of corn in the earth on the top of the mountains; the fruit
thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish
like grass of the earth. 17 His name shall endure for ever: his name
shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him:
all nations shall call him blessed. 18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God
of Israel, who only does wondrous things. 19 And blessed be his glorious
name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen,
and Amen. 20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended. AKJV
Another
prophecy about the New Jerusalem masked in the code of the Old
Testament's Zion. Psalm 102:12 But you, O LORD, shall endure
for ever; and your remembrance to all generations. 13 You shall arise,
and have mercy on Zion: for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, is
come. 14 For your servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor the
dust thereof. 15 So the heathen shall fear
the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth your glory.
16 When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory. 17
He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their
prayer. 18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the
people which shall be created shall praise the LORD. 19 For he has
looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD
behold the earth; 20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose
those that are appointed to death; 21 To declare the name of the LORD in
Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem; 22 When the people are gathered
together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD. AKJV
Please do not take any of
these verses or prophecies as the Bible endorsing the idea of the
despotism of Kings. It does not and although ancient Israel eventually
got itself kings they did this contrary to the explicate spoken will of
God who condemned them for it. A rudimentary knowledge of the history of
the world clearly shows that the vast majority of the oppression of the
poor and the needy; the persecution of the saints was at the hands of
kings and rulers. Scripture ordains the idea of as much personal
responsibility and freedom as possible and on the other side of that
coin as limited a human government as possible. Government of, by and
for a knowledgeable and righteous population is the way that God
ordained and in fact history has shown that these prophecies about the
poor and needy being rescued are to be fulfilled. In this next prophecy,
which is another one of that great mountain that fills the earth and the
heavenly Jerusalem hidden in the code of the Old Testament's Zion. This
one prophesies the use of force of God fearing nations to end the 1000's
of years reign of the despotism of kings and dictators and their
oppressions in the earth. This has in fact been slowly but surely coming
to pass in the earth since the last of the Roman Empire fell in 1453
A.D. Obviously this cannot transpire without the hearts of the
populations of nations being transformed by the Word of God and the
Gospel. That is precisely what has been enabling it
Psalms 149:1
Praise you the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, and his praise in the
congregation of saints. 2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let
the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 3 Let them praise his name
in the dance: let them sing praises to him with the tambourine and harp.
4 For the LORD takes pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek
with salvation. 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud
on their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a
two-edged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance on the heathen,
and punishments on the people; 8 To bind
their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To
execute on them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints.
Praise you the LORD. AKJV
