John 10: 11. I am the
good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. 12. But
he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are
not, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees: and the wolf
catches them, and scatters the sheep. 13. The hireling flees, because he
is an hireling, and cares not for the sheep. 14. I am the good shepherd,
and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15. As the Father knows me,
even so I know the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16. And
other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring,
and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one
shepherd.
John 20: 21. Then said
Jesus to them again, Peace be to you: as my Father has sent me, even so
send I you.
John 21:13 Jesus then
comes, and takes bread, and gives them, and fish likewise. 14 This is
now the third time that Jesus showed himself to his disciples, after
that he was risen from the dead. 15 So when they had dined, Jesus said
to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, love you me more than these? He
said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Feed
my lambs. 16 He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas,
love you me? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He
said to him, Feed my sheep. 17 He said to him the third time, Simon, son
of Jonas, love you me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the
third time, Love you me? And he said to him, Lord, you know all things;
you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep. 18 Truly,
truly, I say to you, When you were young, you gird yourself, and walked
where you would: but when you shall be old, you shall stretch forth your
hands, and another shall gird you, and carry you where you would not. 19
This spoke he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when
he had spoken this, he said to him, Follow me. (AKJV)
1 Peter 5 1. The
elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness
of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall
be revealed: 2. Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the
oversight of it, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre,
but of a ready mind; 3. Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but
being examples to the flock. 4. And when the chief Shepherd shall
appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that fades not away.
