JESUS SYMBOLIZING THE GROOM

End Time
Prophecy Article

John 3 26. And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with you beyond Jordan, to whom You bore witness to, that person (Jesus) baptizes, and all men come to him. 27. John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. 28. You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. 29. He that has the bride is the groom: but the friend of the groom, which stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the groom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 30. He must increase, but I must decrease. 31. He that comes from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaks of the earth: he that comes from heaven is above all.

Luke 5 33. And they said to him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but yours eat and drink? 34. And he (Jesus) said to them, Can you make the children of the brides chamber fast, while the groom is with them? 35. But the days will come, when the groom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

John 2 1. And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2. And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine. 4. Jesus said to her, Woman, what have I to do with you? my hour is not yet come. 5. His mother says to the servants, Whatsoever he says to you, do it. 6. And there were set there six water pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7. Jesus said to them, Fill the water pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8. And he said to them, Draw out now, and bear to the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not where it came from: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10. And said to him, Every man at the beginning does set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but you hast kept the good wine until now. 11. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. Jesus is revealing the glory of the second covenant in comparison to the first covenant in this wedding in John chapter 2. The old covenant is the wine that was inferior to the wine Jesus made, notice how the governor of the feast symbolically says God has saved the best wine until now.

Matthew 25 1. Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like to ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the groom. 2. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4. But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5. While the groom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6. And at midnight there was a cry made, look, the groom is coming; go out to meet him. 7. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8. And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go  to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10. And while they went to buy, the groom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12. But he answered and said, Truly I say to you, I know you not.
