Psalm 2
6. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of
Zion. 7. I will declare the decree: the Lord has said to me, You are my
son; this day have I begotten you. 8. Ask of me, and I shall give you
the nations for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your
possession. 9. You will break them with a rod of iron; you will smash
them in pieces like a clay pot. 10. Be wise now therefore, O
kings: be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11. Serve the Lord with
fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12. Kiss the son, lest he be angry,
and you perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled just a little.
Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Isaiah 9
6. For to us a child is born, to us a son is
given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall
be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, the everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace. 7. Of the increase of his government and peace
there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom,
to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from
henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform
this
Isaiah 11
1. And there shall come forth a shoot out of
the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2. And the
spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge
and of the fear of the Lord; 3. And shall make him of quick
understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the
sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4. But
with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for
the meek of the earth: and he shall strike the earth: with the rod of
his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5.
And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the
girdle of his reins. 6. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the
leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and
the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7. And the cow
and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and
the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8. And the sucking child shall
play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on
the cockatrice' den. 9. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy
mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as
the waters cover the sea. 10. And in that day there shall be a root of
Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the
Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
Zechariah 9
9. Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout,
O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, your King comes to you: he is just, and
having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the
foal of an ass. 10. And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the
horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall
speak peace unto the nations: and his dominion shall be from sea even to
sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth. 11. As for you
also, by the blood of your covenant I have sent forth your prisoners out
of the pit where there is no water. 12. Turn to the strong hold, you
prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double to
you; 13. When I have bent Judah for myself, filled the bow with
Ephraim, and raised up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece,
and made you as the sword of a mighty man. 14. And the Lord shall be
seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the
Lord God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the
south. 15. The Lord of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour,
and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as
though drunk; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of
the altar. 16. And the Lord their God shall save them in that day as the
flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted
up as an ensign upon his land. 17. For how great is his goodness, and
how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new
wine the maids.
Revelation 5
6. And I looked, and, saw, in the midst of the
throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a
Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are
the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. 7. And he came
and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
8. And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty
elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and
golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints. 9. And they
sung a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book, and to open
the its seals: for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your
blood out of every tribe, and language, and people, and nation; 10. And
have made us to our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the
earth. 11. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round
about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them
was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12.
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive
power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, honor, and glory, and
blessing. 13. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth,
and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in
them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto
him that sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb for ever and ever. 14.
And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down
and worshipped him that lives for ever and ever.
